On 30.03.2025, the regular annual meeting of Boryspil Airport veterans took place. Most of them were at the origins of the creation of a separate economic and financial state enterprise - Boryspil International Airport in 1993.
This happened thanks to the hard work of the initiative group in preparing the necessary documents and decisions of the Government of Ukraine to divide the United Air Detachment into three separate economic and financial enterprises: Boryspil International Airport, Ukraine International Airlines, and UkSATSE. If anyone thinks it was that easy, it wasn't. Many heads of various departments did not want this, they were satisfied with the opportunities they had. We had to overcome this resistance under the threat of dismissal, and we did.
Immediately after the airport was spun off, despite all the circumstances that Ukraine was experiencing as a young independent state, work began on the development of a master development plan for the modernisation, reconstruction and construction of new facilities at Boryspil International Airport. These include passenger and cargo terminals, airfield facilities and systems, the latest special machinery and equipment, and social facilities. As you can see, all of this has happened in 30 years, and Boryspil Airport has become on par with European airports.
We, the veterans of our home airport, are proud of this, because at the time, most of the issues were our responsibility. We hope that in the near future the hostilities will end, air traffic will resume and people of Ukraine and other countries will fill our terminals and feel the joy of safe travel and comfort.
Sincere congratulations to the employees and veterans of our airport on the 32nd anniversary of our native enterprise! We wish you good health, success in your professional activities and new achievements.
