On February 20, 2024, at the National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky," upon the initiative of the leadership of the Association “Airports of Ukraine” of civil aviation (AAUCA), a meeting was held with the rector of NTU Zgurovsky Michael and scientists responsible for implementing the Memorandum signed between AAUCA and NTU KPI on October 13, 2023. They discussed further actions and cooperation plans that could bring positive results in the near future.
Since Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, where such world-renowned figures in aviation and astronautics as Igor Sikorsky, Mykola Artemiev, Petro Nesterov, Dmytro Hryhorovych, Volodymyr Chelomey, Serhiy Korolyov, Archip Lyulka once studied and started their scientific and engineering activities, and today aviation remains a priority at NTU, the discussion of current issues and plans for the future took place in a constructive and professional atmosphere.
For your information, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2023, and Zgurovsky Michael has been the head of such a prestigious university for 30 years. Thanks to his scientific authority and organizational abilities, stability, calmness, and inspiration, which are so necessary in the present circumstances, are present here.
At the end of the meeting, the rector of NTU Zgurovsky Michael and the president of AAUCA Petro Lypovenko exchanged books on aviation topics:
- "Kyiv Polytechnics at the Origins of World Aviation, Astronautics, and Rocketry" authored by M. Zgurovsky.
- "Civil Aviation of Ukraine" authored by the founder and first president of AAUCA, Anatoliy Mykolayovych Trotsenko."
