It's nice to meet and communicate with colleagues who understand you at a glance.
The Forum of European Airports (CESEE) took place at Vienna Airport on 4-6 December 2024.
The event was organised by Olivier Jankovec, Chairman of Airports Council International (ACI EUROPE), and Julian Jäger, CEO of Vienna Airport. The event was attended by about 150 representatives of the aviation industry who are interested in airport development, increasing air traffic, and enhancing flight and passenger safety.
At the invitation of the organisers, the forum was attended by the delegation of the Association "Airports of Ukraine" Civil Aviation (AAUCA), headed by its President Petro Lypovenko.
Friendly greetings, discussions of pressing issues, expressions of support in such a difficult period of Russian aggression - all this was felt by the Ukrainian delegation throughout the entire time, and especially after Petro Lypovenko's presentation of the current state of the aviation industry and airports in Ukraine.
Along with the current state of airport facilities and plans for the resumption of air traffic, the presentation drew attention to the creation of a fund to support European airports. This fund could be headed by ACI EUROPE, similar to the creation of a fund to support air navigation companies based on Eurocontrol. With the help of finance, the fund would be able to retain highly qualified personnel, including training and internships at European airports, which is so necessary, especially during the period of suspension of operations, as well as the allocation of the necessary special equipment for ground handling at airports.
When communicating with airline representatives: Austrian Airlines, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Delta Air Lines, we came to the conclusion that all of them are ready to operate regular flights to Ukraine when it is safe to do so.
The event was held in a friendly, professional and comfortable atmosphere, under the slogan ‘Let's overcome all the troubles together’, for which all those present thanked the organisers.
