Association "Airports of Ukraine" CA (AAUCA) has won an important victory in the fight for a level playing field for all airports in Ukraine and maintaining open and transparent competition for all participants in the aviation market
On December 12, 2019, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, within the consideration of the case of setting for one airport twice the rate of air navigation services than for all other airports, concluded that there were signs of violations of the law in terms of protection of economic competition.
The initiator of this investigation was the Association "Airports of Ukraine" CA, whose participants today are 95 companies and organizations from 15 countries, including 20 airports.
AAUCA was established in 1992 and has been a full member of the ACI Europe Council since 2014.
It will be recalled that the IMU order of June 4, 2019 № 415 set the rate of payment for air navigation services on the approach and near the airfield in the amount of 210.0 euros for Boryspil International Airport and 411.0 euros for all other airports in the country.
As a result of consideration of the case, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine recognized such actions as anti-competitive and stated that certain business entities are given advantages that put them in a privileged position in relation to competitors.
